F150 headlights and running lights stay oncharliechan 08-28-2007, 10:58 AM Can home from the store and the tail lights, license plate light and headlights were on. I thought I left them on, but the switch was off. If I turn the switch on with the door open the ding ding sounds to tell me the lights are on, but in the off position it doesn't ding and the lights stay on. I tried starting and recycling the switch, lights still stay on. Have to remove the battery connection to shut off the lights. When I apply the negative post back on, I can hear a click and the lights come on. Any ideas anyone???? truck is a 2002. Probably not related but the airbag light stays on now when I start the vehicle. taillight 08-28-2007, 11:05 AM Sounds like a bad headlite switch. charliechan 08-28-2007, 11:53 AM Also should mention, we think there was a lightening strike close by on Sunday. We lost one Sat. receiver and the alarm DSL filter was fried. So maybe the surge also impacted a relay in the truck. charliechan 08-28-2007, 12:07 PM also, my haynes manual does not show the relays or locations under the hood. Can anyone help in locating the multifunction relay or better yet email me a schematic for the 2002 F150 fuses and light circuit. cglofland@earthlink.net charliechan 08-29-2007, 05:08 PM Stopped at the local Ford dealership and explained what was going on. They didn't have a clue. Someplace in the car hall of fame there must be a book of schematics. I have stumped the board on this one.:banghead: charliechan 08-30-2007, 09:20 PM Got it figured out. The RAP module had shorted to ground causing a ground to appear to the headlights and running lights. Unplugged the beast and use my key. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
