I have a 83 mercedez 240D and i have and electrical issue. My battery only lasts about 2 days with a charge and then the car dies if I jump start it the car start easily and runs but none of my electrical devices work including lights. I thought it might be a bad alternator so I took it to a mechanic and he said it was a bad alt. so changed it and it didn't fix the problem. I also tried a different battery but still same problem. I removed the battery terminal to see if the car stays on and it does so I think that the alternator is working okay. I any one has additional suggestion it'd be greatly appreciated. thanks

well sounds like the alt but idk could be fuses a short almost anything and with a diesel it doesnt need the battery to run just to start it no spark plugs remember?
and i like the 240D one of the best cars of all time IMO

check all the fuses and relays
