tranny fluid in coolant99toyrun 08-27-2007, 09:27 AM On my way back from work last night, my transmission acted very stange. It slipped in first gear and it seemed like the truck had no power when taking off. When I got home I noticed that tranny fluid was comming out from the coolant plastic reservoir and I also noticed some fluid on the driveway from the night before. I had the truck towed to a garage this morning but they have not looked at it yet. I hope I did not damage the tranny because of low fluid. Brian R. 08-27-2007, 11:38 AM You have a ruptured transmission fluid cooler line in the radiator. Time for a new radiator. Drain and flush the transmission and engine cooling system. 99toyrun 08-31-2007, 12:19 PM I replaced the radiator, flushed both transmission and engine cooling system and I am running again. (Costly job) Thank you for your input. I have another question. Last spring (april 2006), I had Check Engine Light on and it turned out to be P0171. I cleaned the MAF sensor and it did not come back until May 07. This time I disconnected the baterry and it has not come back until yesterday(same code P0171). Any suggestions?:disappoin Brian R. 08-31-2007, 02:45 PM A search of the forums would show both this thread: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=732698 and one in the FAQ of a more general nature pertaining to trouble codes. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=4347425&postcount=28 The short answer is that you most likely have to replace the MAF sensor ($160) or possibly the ECT sensor. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
