The ones in the doors are 5 1/4". The ones typically used in the dash were 4x6". Do you have the 4 speaker or 6 speaker system in your vehicle? The 4 speaker systems had speakers in the dash and rear deck, while the 6 speaker system had speakers in the door and rear deck, (no dash listed.) The rears are 6x9".

I have just the dash and the rear speakers now..but I have the grills in the door that look like a speaker would be there. Can I just put them in or do I have to do some custom work?I have a pioneer head unit and I have 2 subs and an amp hooked up now but I would like to replace the factory front speakers with better sounding ones. The ones I have now crackle when you turn them up loud.So I can only have the speakers in either the dash or doors right?....not both.

You can take the grille off or remove the door panel to see if there is any wiring present for a speaker. If not you are going to have to add wiring if you wish to have speakers in the doors also. What I've always done (at least in my older vehicles that I've owned) is to splice into the front (dash) speaker wires and run new wires off of that for the doors. You would be able to control the front dash and doors together and the rear deck speakers separately.
