HX vs. Aleromattyoung33 11-17-2002, 05:54 PM okay, me and this kid had an argument... i have a 99' civic HX (manual)and he is using this rental car thats a 2002 alero 3.6L, V6, and has about 170 HP. He says it will smoke my car by a long shot. i say it wont even if it does have 170 horses. those things are heavy as hell. i looked online and it says 0-60 times for a alero with 150 hp is like 10. (thats the coupe version) he has a sedan automatic alero, but with 170 HP. who would WIN??? 99' HX times are like 9.2 or seomtihng... pleaz tell me im right and hes bullshitting me..... mattyoung33 11-17-2002, 10:08 PM no one knows? now im thinking i might beat it... kicker1_solo 11-17-2002, 11:14 PM he'd smoke you :) CivicSiRacer 11-20-2002, 08:06 AM guess where this goes? Self 11-20-2002, 10:22 AM He'd smoke you. oderusurnugus 11-20-2002, 11:32 AM well this is the pillowfight of the week 79_MonteCarlo 11-20-2002, 04:58 PM He'd smoke you bad. If you have few or no mods I can beat you and an alero can RAPE me. :) btoast 11-20-2002, 08:36 PM Here is are the stats: Alero GLS: 0-60: 7.7 1/4 Mile: 16.1 1/4 Speed: 85 Alero GL: 0-60: 8.1 1/4 Mile: 16.3 1/4 Speed: ? You will have him off the line then after that probably eattin.. My advice is to get a b18 swap. Ethier way race him for some launching practice and just deal with the loss if you happen to win then KICK ASS. :) Good Luck, Be safe. 99alero_boy 10-22-2004, 02:12 PM you would get smoked.....those times are actually a little off.....a stock 3.4 v6 alero with a good driver could easily put down a 15.7-15.9 quarter......FYI I have full catback exhaust and a CAI, that is it....and i have beat my brother in law fairly easily on more than one occasion in his 2000 civic si (dc sports header, aem gears, aem CAI, apexi catback exhaust, and a few other misc things..... allthrottlenobottl 10-22-2004, 02:17 PM well this is the pillowfight of the week hehe i think burnt rice would take u both, or actually he would get ahead and hear your bov then hit his nos and be gone Boosted1 10-22-2004, 02:23 PM Um, yeah, what they said. No offense. cutelilcntrygrl 10-22-2004, 02:28 PM ask your buddy one more time which engine the alero has in it. gm never produced a 3.6L... only 2.2L 4 cyl, 2.4L 4 cyl, and the 3.4L V6. allthrottlenobottl 10-22-2004, 02:33 PM new member yeay, i hope shes a cute lil country girl with a fast car 10sec-Hopeful 10-22-2004, 02:36 PM This thread is like 2 years old... Now if you want to race a real car, let me finish building the 81 Corvette.   Thourun 10-22-2004, 07:30 PM Omg another Old ass thread brought back to life.. cutelilcntrygrl 10-22-2004, 07:41 PM ur in luck i just took the "am i a slut" test and scored 64%slut, so u just might get lucky hate to break it to ya but i'm already lucky... ;) Z3PR 10-22-2004, 08:02 PM "Mods" :loser:... Factory stock sucks. :naughty: :evillol: :lol2: Thourun 10-22-2004, 08:30 PM Yet I intend to sell my car and get a way better one and then start the moding.. Z3PR 10-22-2004, 08:42 PM Yet I intend to sell my car and get a way better one and then start the moding.. I hear ya. Mase 10-22-2004, 11:34 PM how much for that 3000gt there thourun? Thourun 10-23-2004, 04:05 AM I'm asking 7900 in the ads on autotrader and the want advertiser but I'm open to offers reasonably near the asking price. I have a thread in the cars for sale forum Cars in General>Cars/Parts for Sale/Exchange. Thourun 10-23-2004, 04:08 AM Ohh man your far away, just mapquested your zip, damn... you actually do live in a town called Gaylord.... Z3PR 10-23-2004, 04:27 PM I'm still kind of old school about cars. I prefer American cars. Nothing wrong with the little "tuner" import cars, but they're just not for me. Well, I kind of like the old little Triumph TR7's, but other then that, I'll stick with my American cars. I do own a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero GLS Coupe for a daily driver. I don't delude myself into thinking it's the fastest car on the road because I know it isn't. It is a good car for running around town in, and I wouldn't be affraid too take it on a long road trip. The 3.4 engine is pretty snappy, makes it a fun car too drive, and it doesn't sound like a angry bumble bee !!! clawhammer 10-23-2004, 07:55 PM Race him. My money is on the alero though vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
