95 JGC 5.2 No Temperature gage - Fresh rebuild

Hey,
I need some help.
I rebuilt the high mileage 5.2 that was in my 95 JGC and re-installed it.
Everything was replaced with stock except the cam (a little hotter) and roller rocker arms.
I was able to figure out how to set timing with the CPS and now it runs just great.

My problem is that while it appears to run just great for the first 5-10 minutes... the temperature gage never goes above zero and after the engine warms up, it will stall very easily if the RPM is allowed to go below 1000. Stoplights, even slowing down will make the engine stall if the torque converter lets go.

It's almost like the computer does not recognize the engine is now warm and does not appropriatley advance timing.

I have checked the CTS with an ohm-meter and it goes to 1.5K Ohms in boiling water and somewhere aroung 8K Ohms in cold water. I have checked the 2 wires going to the CTS and they read 5V (one is 5V, the other is a good ground). This CTS is new. I am assuming that since there is a valid voltage and ground, that the wires actually make it to the computer.

I have also replaced the CLS (Just behind the thermostat housing - 1 wire). I don't know how to ckeck that, but I'm getting no indication that engine coolant is incorrect... The old one was broken and I even ran the engine with it, but still no indications on the dash.

I have a 180 thermostat and it operates properly. There is no air in the cooling system. The water pump is good.

Reading engine codes is clean... Nothing reported.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance?

Bruce
