Problemmazingo 08-23-2007, 07:10 PM Hey guys, My buddy has a 04 or 05 Grand Cherokee with the 4.0L and it is dead. It has been stalling some and at first we thought it was just the IAC, but the speedometer would jump around 30+/- mph when it did stall. Then today it died, luckily he was about to park it. It will turn over but wont start, the guages read zip, and the fuel pump is not coming on. Also there is a NO KEY light flashing in the gauges, and the key is in it. I think it is a no key light ... it is a key in a circle with a slash through it and it is yellow in color. There has never been any code or even a check engine light on. After reading the sticky at the to of the forum, I think it is his ignition switch, am I on th right track? sector95 08-23-2007, 07:17 PM Hey guys, My buddy has a 04 or 05 Grand Cherokee with the 4.0L and it is dead. Hey guys.... let me give you a bit of a heads up..... for the *Grand* Cherokee you need to post on the *Grand* Cherokee board. You'll have better luck getting answers to your question and you'll avoid the pissy retorts from some posters here in un-Grand Cherokee world. citizen@large 08-23-2007, 11:09 PM CPS RBrandon 08-24-2007, 06:29 PM Hey guys.... let me give you a bit of a heads up..... for the *Grand* Cherokee you need to post on the *Grand* Cherokee board. You'll have better luck getting answers to your question and you'll avoid the pissy retorts from some posters here in un-Grand Cherokee world. I'm a little confused here... The site tree at the top of the page says: Automotive Forums > Jeep > Grand Cherokee/Grand Cherokee SRT8 > So that kinda makes this the *grand* cherokee forum, doesn't it? Otherwise I have been posting in the wrong place for a long time. hardisk_c 08-25-2007, 01:35 AM Brandon, that was one of the admins moving the post from the Cherokee to the Grand Cherokee board, this gentlepersons post originated in the Cherokee forum, only to be moved here by a forumite. . . . And to concur with citizen, one of the more common problems created by a failing CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor) are the ones the OP was describing. That one's in &OUR& sticky lol RBrandon 08-25-2007, 10:46 PM  Yeah, after I posted my attempt at being smug I caught on. Mental note to self: don't get cute with administrators. mazingo 09-01-2007, 12:16 PM Okay, some more information. The Jeep GC is a 2004 model with the 4.0L. When you put the key in and turn it on this is what happens... The "no key" light is on (yellow circle with a ket and a slash throught it). We tried both of the keys, no change. When you turn it on sometimes the guages work and the fuel pump comes on, other times the guages don't work and the fuel pump doesn't come on. It will spin over, but will not start. The local Jeep Stealership will not even let you talk to a technician, and if you ask about a bad part all they say is "we never have any problem out of that", about right isn't it.
