Hello all,
I have a 1990 inline six Cherokee Laredo, automatic. Few weeks ago it overheated. I came to this forum and realized my Jeep does not have an electric cooling fan. I picked up a used one at the wrecker and wanted to install it.

Problem is, I have a set of wires taped off at the ends (no connectors). I think these are suppose to be the wires to the fan as I see no other loose connectors in that general area. The wires are black and red with a white stripe. I removed the fan from a 93 jeep and those wires were black and green.
Question is should I connect the fan to the red and black wires?

Normally it is wired to the AC compressor clutch circuit. Along with a temp sensor in the radiator.

In your case, an on-off (heavy duty) switch might just work. Use one in conjunction with an indicator light.

Make sure you fuse it.
