Sounds like Tamiya was feeling some heat with Aoshima doing Z cars now...

hmm, now that has my interest! I'll be on the lookout for that...

I see myself buying 2 of those...one just for the wheels.....maybe Tamiya will do like they did with the z-tune skyline and offer some of the parts as extras?

I fully agree. Its states that it has metal parts! Hopefully not the chasis, keep it in the rally and JGTC cars but not the road cars. Looks like something i might get if the price is right.

Where are The Front Blinkers?

I really wish Tamiya would start making "lemans" car again.

it would be so cool to build an R10, or Courage, Lola, Pescarolo, Dome, Zytek.

but I wish they would make the Porsche RS Spyder, I want to build a kit of that so bad

I agree, 100%, how do we make it happen?

I guess I'll be impressed if they stop cranking out old kits...Didn't the 350Z come out in 2001 or something originally?

How many versions of the Peugeot 206 rally car did they come out with? 6?

I love Tamiya kits, but those recent releases (the JTCC NSX and SC430) could be built in 15 minutes.

Brilliant!!! I agree seems like Tamiya are trying to stay ahead of the competition. They never used to model tuner versions as they just stuck to factory cars. I hope this opens a whole can of modelling worms :grinyes:

I doubt Tamiya has felt any heat at all from Aoshima. Most likely Tamiya simply realized an opportunity to get just a little more from their existing 350 kit.

We don't. :disappoin

Recently Tamiya simply doesn't believe they can recoup the necessary investment to develop and produce a new 1/24 car in kit sales.

For the R10, get the Revell or SMS kit. For the Pescarolo, get the Lemans Miniatures. Taimya has almost beyond doubt made their last dedicated Le Mans kit (911 GT1), but it's terrific- built one?

Tamiya alone has put out over 300 1/24 cars. Most are terrific kits, and most are still availible one way or another. But for new 1/24 kits, Tamiya has obviously decided largely to turn away from this market. Perhaps someday they may reevaluate and decide it can be profitable for them once more. Meanwhile, there are alot of other kits out there to build.
