TRANNY GOING OUT? need helph22turbohatch 08-18-2007, 10:50 PM ok so i just bought a new honda civic hatch si. when i bought it i wasn't havin problem with it and it kinda happened all of a sudden. at first, when my car was on i couldn't go into gear AT ALL, no matter how hard i tried. once the car was off it was going into gear just fine so i started it in first and tried to shift into 2nd and it would get stuck in neutral. THEN, all of a sudden i couldn't engage in any gear, even when my car was off. all the shift knob would do is go up and down but not sideways, it felt really loose and my clutch is just sitting there as if i was holding it down with my foot, it seems dead. what is my problem? is it my linkage AND cluth? maxassassin 08-18-2007, 11:10 PM it honestly sounds like your clutch is done. because it wont go i or out or gears at all. have it toed to a trans shop and have them take a look at it. but before all that see the the hydraluic clutch thing needs to be bleed. i dont have one ive heard of it giving alot of issues. Greenblurr93 08-19-2007, 11:39 AM sounds like the clutch isnt disengaging, bleed the clutch line. h22turbohatch 08-19-2007, 04:55 PM thanks ill check that out. but whats the reason behind the shift thing(whatever it's called) being loose? i wish i could explain it better but it will just go up and down, not sideways and it feels way to loose. maxassassin 08-19-2007, 07:27 PM are you sure your shifter is still attached to the linkage. if it goes up and down but not side to side that doesnt seem like either of the problems. Greenblurr93 08-19-2007, 08:17 PM check to make sure the bushing isnt bad and isnt hitting your exhaust h22turbohatch 08-19-2007, 08:53 PM Okay i will do that, i think the first problem is going to be the shifter not being attached to the linkage, ill check that out and get back. btw, sounds like its going to cost lotsa $? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
