94 Lebaron - replaced timing belt/H2O pump

.....but I want to hear the car start and get the water circulating (check for gasket leaks etc) BEFORE putting the timing cover, a/c, alternator, and motor mount back on.

I tried starting it yesterday with only the sparkplugs in (connected), but it just turns over.

Needless to say, the waterpump is timing-belt driven

Any ideas on how to get it cranked?

(V6, 3.0)

It should start. Are you sure you lined up all the timing marks?

Yes, the marks are dead-on. Even cranking it, they (dohc) land perfectly on the mark.

was a pain learning how to line them up, but according to the mfg marks on the engine, it's lined up perfectly.

One thing's for sure.. i'm not reassembling this car until I hear it run. What a PAIN this has been! ha!

Pull #1 spark plug. turn the engine over untill the #1 piston is at top dead center. All the timing marks should be lined up. Pull the distributer cap and check the rotor. It should point to #1 plug wire. It might be 180 off.
