Getting ready to paint my 82 Camaro +gauge question

I am getting it ready for paint and I was curious how much paint I will need. I have yet to decide on a color but I am leaning to Candy apple red or one of theese.

How much does the average paint job cost for theese cars? I have a friend that does this so its pretty much gonna be a home job.

Right now I dont really have much money and really no way to get any so I want a good idea of how much paint I will actually need.

I am also puting the full interior and nose/rear and body kit from my 91 camaro into my 82 even the electric hatch motor, minus wiring and dash. Will the gauges from the 91 work? The 82 has that dual sided speedo and fuel gauge. The main reason I want to change is I found a glow gauge kit that looked really good on the 110mph 91 gauges but cant find any for the 82 85mph gauges.

The 82 is red so thats the main reason I am looking at reds. But the nose/rear + hood + doors and side skirts are blue.

This is why I want the Candy apple red btw ...

i personally like the blue, but thats cuz i dont like red too much on cars.. only some of em. the deep blue would look sexy on a 3rd gen, but just be warned that your friend better be good @ painting.. and buy a bunch extra, for when you mess up... dont spray too much @ a time, and take your time doing everything..

Well he actually went to a tech school and has been do'n bodywork and painting cars for years so Im not too worried.

Im also try'n not to put too much into paint for the car as its pointless around here. Got log trucks throwing wood and rocks all over the place. Then there is my neighbor who likes to take razors to my cars and put sand/sugar in my gas tanks or just cut the fuel lines....

As for Blues

cant get too much more expensive than candy apple colors...pearls are a step down..the reason why you dont see many candy apple cars around is cuzz its very expensive and harder to paint..

This paint does not seem too costly. Im not sure if its a true candy or pearl.

i think true 'candy' is actually black paint, with layers and layers of tinted clearcoats(?)

btw, if your friend can do em, sounds good. i like the cobalt blue too..
but the aquamarine is a pretty blue, in a girly way. its nice tho. the chicks will love that color.

and your crazy ass neighbor.. just wire up the ignition coil to your car.

better then any darn alarm..

you might wake up to find a knockd out guy on the floor tho, shouldnt kill him...i think.

Yea the aqua is kinda girly a friend suggested it as his mustang is that color almost.

My neighbor makes me really miss my old rottie lol .... Ive called the cops and they dont do a single thing :/ ... He has costed us a brand new 302ci for my dads truck and cut the fuel lines in my old van....

Also loosened up and stole lugnuts off my truck and one of my tires actually came off one day while I was driving.

I thought it was more like a gold coat, then dark red with metal flake. I did orange, but I'd like the 67 to be that color. I don't use clear on the daily driver so that it's quicker to repair!
