Engine Mileagehondacivic101 08-15-2007, 04:18 PM i recently swapped the engine of my civic for another because it wouln't run . my odometer reads the mileage the car used to have(150,000) my question is, how can i make it read the mileage the engine has now (when i bought the engine the original car read 90,000 miles) Greenblurr93 08-15-2007, 04:52 PM just so you know, thats illegal.. but if you must, you need to take the cluster out to be able to roll back the odometer (not that i would do such a thing.. hehe) CivicSpoon 08-15-2007, 07:18 PM Yup, illegal. And if for some reason you sell the car or have to re-register it, the change to the mileage will be noted on the car's history. When someone wants to buy a car and looks at the mileage, they're not just wondering about the miles on the engine, they're wondering about the miles on the entire car. hondacivic101 08-16-2007, 11:11 AM I don't know if you understood me correctly, but I ment the miles the new engine is supposed to have(90,000) is it still illegal? Greenblurr93 08-16-2007, 11:26 AM yes, modifying your odomater AT ALL is illegal, we understood exactly what you were saying, its the same reason my odometer reads 211k but my motor only has about 27k on it. hondacivic101 08-16-2007, 11:41 AM Thanks for the information :grinyes: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
