93 Geo Metrobdeaner 08-15-2007, 10:12 AM How hard would it be to fix the rusted frame on a 93 geo metro, it has rusted through and is broke on the drivers side. Undriveable at this point. coopdavillage 08-19-2007, 11:08 PM well considering its the wrong forum :P either way you will want to contact a body shop and see if they will even tackle such a job but depending on how bad you might be able to reinforce it if you know how to weld. other than that you are left with the other alturnative of replacing the body (not worth the work) but good luck :) Jagwar 08-20-2007, 11:55 AM well considering its the wrong forum To what forum should his question about a Geo Metro problem have been posted if not "Automotive Forums (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/index.php) > Geo (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=739) > Metro (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=185)" ? Anyway, if this frame is that far gone, you'd mos likely be able to find another one for less than the cost of all the welding required to rebuild this one. Please consider safety and not just cost when it comes to car repairs. 91Caprice9c1 08-21-2007, 03:52 AM Please consider safety and not just cost when it comes to car repairs. Especially those regarding the FRAME. You can die if your control arm decides to seperate from the body at speed - the loss of control would be un-correctable. Butt-can that heep and get another one for 1/2 a grand. -MechanicMatt bdeaner 08-21-2007, 09:20 AM Thanks for all your help guys, I'm scrap'in this one!! DOCTORBILL 08-21-2007, 07:59 PM Why don't you "Part it out" and sell some of the parts to folks here on this forum...? Is the engine (3 cyl ?) any good, the transmission (Manual?) , the Throttle Body, the Disc Brakes, the seats, the hatchback, the Speedometer (Tach?), the radiator, the generator, the A/C, the gas tank, the tail lights, the doors, the hood, etc. ? - and make some money! Like sharks smelling blood...... Anybody interested is some '93 Geo Metro parts? My Geo is a '93, but I have it going good. DoctorBill 91Caprice9c1 08-22-2007, 01:35 AM Good idea Doc. That is, if the guy has the means to store it. Paring out these things to the forum members would be awesomely generous =) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
