hello everyone, im new to this site and forumns stuff, and i have a couple of questions. but maybe u can help? my boss just gave a 96 vw golf, but the car is 1.8 liter throttle body injected car. with the motor code of 'acc". which represents that it is canada car!! now is i possible to register this car in the united states? or new york where i live? and i have no papers on the car? so can i still get papers for the car? if not i was just going to race it in the enduro races. but anything or information would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

Hi

What happened to the original papers ?

In the UK we have a V5, registration document. If this is lost it is usually a simple procedure to supply the engine and chassis numbers to get a new V5 - there may be a small fee involved but if the vehicle is genuine, no problems.

I assume that Canada and the USA have the same emissions/safety requirements so assuming the car is not stolen/ringed, you should have no problem getting the required paperwork for road use. I imagine the US charge less for this service than the UK along with most other things.
