'95 Metro 4 to 3 cylinder conversionTrueGamerOmega 08-14-2007, 03:26 PM Is it possible to convert a 4 cylinder automatic to a 3 cylinder manual on a '95 Metro? If so, what would it require? Thanks. Hugemoth 08-14-2007, 04:59 PM Yes, but it'll be a big job. You'll need engine, transmission, axles, clutch peddle and linkage, gear shift and linkage, electronic engine control, and other stuff. Major pain in the butt. Consider selling the car and buying the type you want, or finding a complete 3 cyl manual doner car. Q TrueGamerOmega 08-15-2007, 03:09 PM Thanks, I actually don't own the car, but was thinking about buying one. I guess I'll look for a different one. Thanks again. Hugemoth 08-15-2007, 05:03 PM If you're going for gas mileage don't shy away from the SOHC 4 cylinder engine with 5 speed. They can get almost the same mileage as the 3 cylinder with 5 speed while having power in reserve when needed. Q vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
