Adding gear oil

I have a 1991 mx-6 with a manual transmission. I decided to change the oil and the gear oil since it hasn't been done since I have owned it. When I went to add fresh gear oil I couldn't find where to add it. Where am I supposed to add new gear oil? Thank you for any help.

i am pretty sure it does not need gear oil
as it is a manual trans
i could be mistaken but i am pretty sure it does not take it

i believe there is a spot under the breather box ontop of tranny to unscrew and top up with gear oil, but dont quote me on location

1.remove speedometer driven gear
2. remove drain plug, and drain oil
3. fill trans, check fluid by speedometer gear, just above gear see F & L, oil level is between F & L
4. install speedometer driven gear

Whoever thought of making the speedo gear to check the fluid AND to add, should be shot

isn't google great?!? now where's my finder's fee? :sarcasm1:

hmm, open page J1, more specifically J1-7, on the following link:

you live in CA, so using gear oil with a GL-4 rating may help your transmission live longer; i like redline's GL4 oil personally
