Jalmir 08-10-2007, 10:58 AM the rotor might be stuck in rust, mine was and a 5lbs sledge hammer didn't do anything, I had to slice parts of the rotor with an angle grinder and hit the rotor a few times, it gave up and I could change it ... So you need a sledge hammer, an angle grinder and patience! Cut the base of the rotor (not the exterior parts that the pads press to brake, the center part of it) be carefull not to cut too deep or to cut the wheel studs or to cut the hub. When you have done a nice and not too deep line in that center part of the rotor take the sledge hammer and give it a few hit on the exterior part of the rotor (the section use to brake) the rotor will give up and split in 2. That's how I took one of mine that was stuck there. k2kiceman 08-11-2007, 11:00 PM Hyundai brake rotors are almost a machine fit and many require splitting the rotors to remove them, especially in the rust belt states. When I reinstall them, i coat the back of the rotors with an anti-seize compound to help the next time in removal. Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
