Hi,
I am working on 1991 Toyota Camry 4cyl. The freon has been recovered from the system properly. I need to replace the expansion valve. Can someone tell me where it is located and how to access it? I read some posts on the net pertaining to later models as being located behind the glove box . Is this correct? Any help as usual would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
James

My Chiltons manual says the expantion valve is located in front of the evaporator core for all 1983 to 1991 Camrys.

Thank you to all that helped. Everything turned out fine with the evaporator problem and expansion valve. I had a problem opening the documents for camrymanuals.com. I had to download a file called Foxit reader and fixed the problem.
Thanks
James
