96 Dodge Grand Caravan no FM radio stationsByndor 08-06-2007, 11:14 PM I have a 96 Dodge Grand Caravan one day the radio worked fine (both AM and FM) the next day I had no FM radio stations. AM reception is fine, only static on the FM band. What could cause this? Could it be something to do with the antenna or is it possible that just the radio may have gone bad? I haven't seen this before and could not find anything in any of the past posts. Any help will be greatly appreciated. If when you select FM stations and the frequency you had for those buttons is correct, I would think the FM section of the radio has failed. If the antenna was bad, AM would be bad too, it is even more susceptible to static than FM. Spit 08-07-2007, 10:10 PM I have a very similar problem with my 96 GC. It has the fancy factory radio with CD and a Graphic Equalizer built into it...but on mine the FM is always fine. It's the AM the seldom works, but on rare occasion it will come in and work fine for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. I have rechecked the antenna connections and that doesn't seem to be it When it doesn't work and I hit the search button it stops at every potential station say I'm at 800 it will stop at 810. 820, 830, 840 etc. It never generates any music/broadcast it just acts like it can't find any signal...If I hit a preset button same thing no sound at all. ...If anyone has a cure let us know It's sort of a PIA during football season a lot of the games are broadcast on AM and If I'm driving I can't listen to the game.
