Does this have a stick shift or automatic transmission?

the sentra is a 4 speed manual transmission. it will not move in any gear. i think that it is the clutch. are they hard to change, when you put the shifter into a gear it feels like it is going into gear but when you release the clutch nothing happens. it is as if you still have the clutch in. i have checked the linkage and is ok and it does seem like it is going into gear but the car will not move. does this sound like a clutch to you. and if it does how long will it take for me to change it thanks a lot.

If it doesn't move at all, then it could be a clutch. I think it would just be hard to drive, unless the clutch is completely fried. Maybe something isn't letting your clutch engage, like a stuck cable. Did the problem start out of nowhere, or was there some indication that the transmission wasn't grabbing? Does it do the same thing in every gear? Are your CV boots intact?

The clutch is a pretty big job. You have to unbolt the transmission and possibly remove the flywheel to have it machined.

Does the clutch pedal still have pressure when you step on it and feel the same as it always has?

Can you change gears without using the clutch pedal, or do you have to use the clutch pedal or it won't shift?

Changing the clutch in this car will require unbolting the tranny from the engine, doing so also requires that you remove the drive axles from the tranny first, doing that requires that you remove the front brakes and strut arms first. Bit of a project but doable.
