We were driving down the highway doing 60-70MPH and I heard, I guess you would say a little "pop" noise and we lost all power. Afterwards it would turn over but wouldn't start. We checked the timing belt and that was fine...anyone have any ideas what might of happened?

I'm going to guess this is a talon. What model talon? Had it made any noises or had any problems prior to this? Can you describe the pop noise in a bit more detail? Did you check all the basics? Fuses, belts, battery?

O.K. Just guessing with the limited info........I'm still leaning toward the timing belt. When you checked you popped off an inspection cover yes ??? Did you turn it over and watch to see the entire thing rotate an entire cycle ?

Is it turbo? Did an IC pipe pop off? Check compression?
