hi buds, I have my jeep parked back at my dads house from the dealership. My friend reset the pcm computer and recoded the key. The jeep is still doing the same thing. when you drive is for sometime the dashboard will act up dancing needles and lights will blink and noises, jeep will begin to die out. then start. Know i have to jump the jeep because of battery is dead. do you think my alt is dieing. or should i replace my pcm computer? it has 107k on it with a v-6. i paid my buddy $200 already for nothing. Can someone please help me out with some info. before i replace the pcm computer.
:screwy:
thank you.

Jeeps are notorious for acting up if you have electrical issues. I would get it a new battery first if you know it's bad.

Because you wrote that, yes.

But also based on lots of posts I've read on Jeep boards, it seems to be general consensus Jeeps don't like funky power. And the way they tell you is like what you are seeing.

So if you know that battery is bad, start right there. Replace the battery and at the same time clean the connections up. Battery, alternator, starter would be a good idea too.

My 93 ZJ PCM lasted 13 years before I had to replace it.

I just brought my 96 JGC in for the E22 Recall and now two days later my jeep won't start. The dealership says they didn't do anything that would have caused it not to start. They Flashed the PCM and I think it has something to do with the problem.
