I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.9L with what used to be a pretty good sound system. 10 speaker Infinity Gold. The speakers are done and the cd player no longer works. I am wondering if anyone has suggestions on what I should be looking at to replace the stereo.

With the limited you have the sterio controls on the steering wheel. If you want to keep those get a new cd player off ebay. With the speakers I have Alpine type S in the front doors and type R in the rear. They are kind of expensive for the R's but you can use S's on all four. Also what do you mean by ten speaker? Mine has six (4doors, tweeters in dash). Your speakers might still be good and the amp went bad but I dont know much about that.

I presume because the Jeep I have is fully loaded it has options not common in some others. 1998 was the only year to offer a 5.9L Limited version. I have 2 more speakers in the back hanging down from the headliner with 2 more tweeters. Altogether there are 4 door speakers 4 tweeters and 2 more door sized speakers in a stock enclosure hanging from the headliner in the cargo area.
