Hi, all

I started new project Panamerican 20,000 miles tour.

It based on Fujimi Ferrari 599GTB Kit.

And Use KA-Models Panamerican Tour Decal, Daytona Seat and 599 GTB Detail-up Etched part.

I'll make Blue 599 with Chile Moai Illust.

But need two decal sheets of KA-Models panamerican decal.

Because Chile - Moai is in Decal Type A for Red 599.

I use KA-Models PE part.

http://blog.dreamwiz.com/usr/w/j/wjyang95/21/wjyang95_20070731202052_6061622_1.JPG

I also use KA-Models Daytona seat.

Interior color is painting by Mr.Color

And shadowing paint use tamiya enamel.

But I think shadowing color is not good.

It's too dark. :banghead:

The work on body shell is superb. Are the white area just a decal? The one in teh KA set?

Due to your nick, have you something to do with the KA company?
If yes, pliiiizzzzzzz, run to cast more dayto seats 'cos is very hard to find on stock J/K LOL

I'm in the process to start mine (TdF car too, KA decals+Crazy set) to place aside my China Scangi, and I agree the Chile hood logo is very cool, but there isn't one in the set B. I haven't understand very well why KA done 2 sets if not to breack balls to us LOL, anyway great job from you and great from KA.

Looking good Lawrence. Interior highlights are a dash too dark, but I think if you'd spray your interior base color on top of what you have right now, it should look good as pre-shading - maybe not too late? Rubber plate you mentione is called mudguard I believe. Great work so far!

Hi, gionc

Many thanks for your praise.

You are right! I am a staff of KA's.

Sorry but problem of "daytona seat" is out of my authority.

I think many shop will be re-stock near future.

And....

I don't use decal in white area.

I am painting with stencil.

I use two decals of KA's.

Because I can make blue Chile-moai.

There is two type decals on KA.

Decal A is include Chile, Canada, Brasil of Red 599.

Decal B is include Argentina, Peru, USA of Blue 599.

There is two different mark color on Door and Roof.

But that's too large to put together.

Because KA is release two types.

Keep in touch!

Good jop!

Well you understand: I was jocking :D, BTW if you kick in the ass well to those that sleep over dayto seat would be appreciated LOL, ever joking :D

I don't use decal in white area.I am painting with stencil.

I guessed, this is 'cos I asked, the surface isn't simple and the white seems very concealing and vivid. So great job on the stencil/mask you done, really.

Because KA is release two types.

Oki, I have another idea of the thing (LOL) but really, I can't complain nothing to KA actually, the stuff I had in hand is very nice, the offset printed logos on fiat and "Q" deserve few bucks more.

Thanks a lot for the answer. I'm :popcorn::popcorn: tuned.

I have one set of Daytona seats and one set of decals (A) and had to order decals B and another set of seats (sorry Gio! :icon16: ). The quality seems just fine but I have one big (IMO) complaint in that KA should have includedd licence plates for both cars on both sheets. I wanted to do the blue car from the Brazil leg and I can't with just the A decals. It's a small piece, and there's an additional little decal sheet with american plates (only red car again ...) included anyway, so I was quite disapointed with that, to be honest. I think KA staff should learn that these little things make us modellers respect the brand so much more. Just for the future.

Thanks for sharing your progress on the build. Why did you decide to paint the white area instead of using the decals?

Hi, ales

Thank you for your interest in my work.

A small decal included both A and B is mean "you can make USA 599 both Red and Blue car"

American lisence plate must use only USA.

But you need two decal - Set A and B if you want red USA.

And....

I was painting white area.

Because it's better easy for me.

That's too difficult to make decal on severe curved surface and too difficult to put decals.

Thank you for your interest again.

see you!!!:)

Man, sorry for the storm around your job but most here are in the process to do it, so we're a bit excited.

I would like to know more about the stencil tip you used. May you expain better?

I expected you glued (white glue according the Stevensky's copyrighted tip) the "stencil" over the white area and sprayed the TdF blue? Or did you used directly the decals and removed after the blue?

Zory for the effort needed but is a point that would be helpful for most.

And don't worry for the english: those is a thing that most italians can't do better LOL

Hi, gionc

Thank you for your kind! :)

My painting process is followed.

1. painting metalic blue with airbrush. I am using lacquer paint which from hiroboy's zero custom paint.

2. make mask with 3M masking tape(Yellow colored).

3. painting white with airbrush. I am using Gunze Mr. color based lacquer paint.

4. a little sanding coarse surface.

5. Clear Coat with Mr.color "Super clear"

6. And polish with tamiya compaund.

7. Finish!

See you!!

Oki thanks, I misunderstand the thing of the two decals, I guessed you used decals as a template.

I'm starting to be worried for the color match, my TdF blue should be on the way but this would be the result:

http://www.autogaleria.pl/fotografie/ferrari/ferrari_599_gtb_panamerican_2006_02.jpg

And your stuff, sure great, is very different, lighter, and with a "green turquoise shade" and in the refs I have the TdF have a violet reflection. The Ts51 I used over Ts50 on the 360CS seem be a good match.....

I hope Steve have the time to see this and reassure us.

Hi, gionc!

Thank you for your reply.

I think body color is little different too.

But this color is not for 599GTB.

And this color is pretty good I think.

I believe steve will make 599GTB Color.

See you!
