powersteering pump with and without towing

does anyone know the diff between p/s pump with and p/s pumpwithout towing my 1996 jgc has a hitch but i dont think it is factory i order a pump today cuz mine has gone bad if my jeep has the one with towing will the one without work?

I can't honostly tell you what the difference would be, but I am sure it would work, I never knew they made 2 different pumps, I replaced the pump on my old ZJ and was never asked about 2 different pumps, I knwo they make a different cooling system one reguilar and one MAX COOL for towing, but never heard about a p/s pump with towing. I know of the SPEED PROPORTIONING STEERING or something like that but don't think it has anything to do with TOWING... HUMMMMMM..... interesting, but I don't think you will have a problem either pump should work I would imagine they would be the same but maybe some internals are different.

thanks for the info i looked at a few part stores online and found some pic mainly what i noticed is on has a electrical hookup and one dosnt i ordered the one with out the other day luckly i looked at mine and its the rigth one im in germany in the u.s. army so parts dont get here as fast as the states and there isnt really any junk yards like in the states so i couldnt just pull one from there my transmission is on its way out but im headed back to the states soon so ima just criple it on the boat and pull one at a junk yard when i get back hey and about how hard is that pump to change? ive changed them on hmmvs before and its a pain but this dosnt look like it will be that bad anything i need to look out for or any special tool beside a pully puller? thanks
