Hello all, I was given a brand new 4.3 vortec balance shaft engine block. I have a 4.3 that I'm rebuilding for my boat, it came out of an early 90's model Astro Van. It isn't a vortec and certainly doesn't have a balance shaft. My question is how compatible are the parts? Can I take the crank, cam, valves, heads, etc. and put them in the new block or is everything different? I'd like to take advantage of the new block if there isn't too much problems doing so. What are your expert opinions? Thanks!
