Where to get particular Tires?

I need (and turbos86 will, too ;)) a set of blank-sidewall slicks in size "245/40*17" for my set of Fujimi Work Emotion wheels. Well, the 245 is actually too small... the tires need to be 10" (in scale) to fit the wheels. So really, I need 17"x10" slicks. I wouldn't even mind buying a few sets...

Where to start looking? TIA!

I want to find some big fat drag slicks...ie 385-435/55-65/15-16. I think they would be quite FAT?

OD: 27.6"
ID: 16.32"
Width: 12.48"

16" ID could be stretched to 17", and 12.5" width could be trimmed to ~10"; but 27" +.5" for stretching would be way too big. The OD of the tires we need should be around 23-25"...

:(

BTW, I got no leads when I asked at Pegasus today...

Awwww
I'll look into Tamiya's line of mini 4WD tyres
I mean these things!
http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/mini4wd/images/19412.jpg
They use soft rubber tire..I'll see if they fit the Work wheels

I have one of the Mini 4WD cars, and the tires are too big. Great idea, though! I'm looking into the Kyosho Mini Z cars now... ;)

So far I can't find measurements, other than Hiroaki's F1 wheel conversion... :(

Hi jay, what I would suggest is to just cast the tires that came with the work emotion wheels in resin. Once the tires are cast, putty up the threads (to recreate the flat surface of the slicks) and sand away the side wall details and paint the tire flat black. I did this and it looked great. I'll try and get some pictures up. HTH

I'm still shy of resin casting... :o

I found these...

Wide high grip tire (20) pink (http://www.hobbyetc.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?part_id=21192&car_id=80) : W: 11mm O/D: 27mm I/D: 20mm

40 grip semi-wide tire set (http://www.hobbyetc.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?part_id=24499&car_id=80) :
Outer diameter: 20mm (0.79")
Inner diameter: 14mm (0.55")
Width: 9mm (0.35")

The first is too small, the second is too big. :( (Is the first really a set of tires for ~13" wheels? Well, I know the scales are appoximate...)

Still, they're both close, so I'm still hoping to find a set that's just right!

I can't really comment on the clay method (although it does sound like a good idea though) but I think the sand/fill method is going to be easier. If you're willing to waste one of the original rubber tires, you can sand the details and threads from that and then make a copy of the tire. I would post some pictures but still don't have access to a digi cam

No dice for the Kyosho tires. :( I got a hold of some and they measure out to 19" in 1/24 scale.

I'm running out of options! :o

Wouldn't Tamiya GT class tire work, such as the one in 993 GT2, DTM or WRC? Fujimi also makes some racing slick for the DTM and GT racer kits.

If you, or anyone, could point me to a particular kit with 17" wheels and slick tires, I'd appreciate it! ;)

I have a spare set of slicks - supposed to go on rims 19mm in diameter and 12mm width.

What is the actual measurement of the wheel in 1/24, diameter and width in millimeters?
And what is the desired tire O/D which looks good when fitted to the car?

1/1 scale:
ID: 17" (432mm)
OD: ~24" (610mm)
Width: 10" (254mm)

1/24 scale:
ID: 0.71" (18mm)
OD: ~1.0" (25.5mm)
Width: 0.42" (10.6mm)
