Interesting to see a flatbed truck (lorry) in this forum. I've never seen that particular kit in the states. Is it Italeri or Revell? Good job on a very different subject. At first when I saw only the text, I thought I would see a police volvo car with a lightbar. Big surprise huh? I did follow your other thread before-I think you had the Mazda on it.

May be I won't get ridiculed if I showed my Kenworth T600A with a auto transporter or a Mercedes Actros with the Mercedes racing trailer. :)

Great job again Slim!!!

Darn, that looks tight!!
The only thing I miss on it are those plates where they drive the car on the lorry.. but that's just me.. Very good job on it.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments!!

wkma7six-It's an Italeri kit and originally started life as a refridgerated
box lorry (see original thread for a picture of the box art) but I decided
I was going to convert it into a recovery vehicle with lights!!

Ales- I may build another in the future as it was a refreshing change to build something different, and the quality of the kit was very good.

Wishmaster-I wondered if anyone would pick up on the lack of ramps, but the official excuse is it's modelled on a 'beaver-tail' where the whole of the flat-bed moves back to form a ramp and then returns into place
with the car on it under power of a winch, hence the large enclosed part at the front of the bed!!

P/Man-yeah I get what your saying but I intended it to be a general recovery truck, it's just the Corolla was the only 1/24 model I had to hand so on it went! maybe I should get that Castrol Primera and wreck it to form a sort of diorama:flipa:
:D :D :D :D

Anyway thanks for looking and I'm glad you all like it!!

It is really amazing what one can do with trucks in 1/24th scale.
Very nice idea and oh so well executed!

Never thought about doing a race support truck (Mercedes, Ferrari, Honda Pons, Yamaha and shortly Ducati?)

huudo I know that Italeri do a couple of race support trucks also in 1/24 scale, they do a Subaru rally team and a Ducati corse one only problem is they're £50 each!!
But you do also get the Impreza kit with the Subaru truck and a Ducati race bike(996? 998? not sure which!!) with the Ducati truck so I suppose £50 isn't too bad.
Problem being these are kits of articulated trucks and they are HUGE!!
This one I built was originally just over 41cm long but the artic kits are about 65cm long!!

I know, being big is the reason why I never got the Mercedes truck. I don't have the place to store it once build. :(
