So on my 98 Grand Cherokee I am almost 100% sure that I have a leak from the evaporator. Does anyone know where it is located and how to get to it? Thanks.

Evaporator is located in the heater box behind the glove compartment.
You'll need to remove the dash and separate the upper and lower heater box. MAJOR job not for the average person. If you decide to do it or have it done I'd suggest that you replace the heater core while in there so you won't need to do it in near future.

It's actually not that hard to do. I did mine in my old ZJ (94), I took the dash out to get the Evap Core out to see which one I had (part store had no way to tell without seeing it) and I replaced the heater core while I was in there. I have also done a 99 dodge ram - same thing.

No the airbag is built into the dash so it will come out with the dash just remember before you do anything, disconnect the battery and wait 10 minutes for the airbag to discharge, the FSM calls for 2 minutes but I always wait 10 minutes just to be safe.
