95 Park Ave Power Antenna

The nylon cable that controls the power antenna broke. I took the assembly apart by drilling out some rivets and removed the broken cable. I saw on a cadillac post that a GM part 22038195 can replace it. However, the cable is crimped onto the smallest diameter antenna section and there is a metal sleeve crimped onto the other end which is bent to form a J so that it will hook into the takeup reel. Has anyone repaired this and can provide some guidance and does anyone know if the part identified includes the sleeeve and the small antenna section? I don't think that I can uncrimp the antenna section without ruining it.

Repair is a major pain. Why sweat it man, they can be got on ebay for $24. Can't give link as i might be advertising. Just go to parts sections and type in buick power antenna.
