is it ok to get rid of the dex cool and put in normal not "extended life" coolant like the green stuff and is the only place to put it in the tank on the side?

You can replace the dex with the green antifreeze just make sure you thoroughly flush the engine and rad. The 2 antifreezes do not mix and will create a gel. Yep. You fill it up from the overflow bottle.

The best way is to replace the Dexcool with prestone's universal coolent. This way there will be no interaction. Or you could just replace the old with new Dexcool.

ps: Dexcool is not the cause of GM's engine failure..It's poor design on GM's part

Well, you let the car run in park untill it reaches normal temp then turn the car off jackup the car from the front once the car is jack up right with jack stand then get under the car now under the raidator or should I say in the raditor at the very both there is like a butterfly plug (carfully) also Have a Big pan on the bottom to catch the antifrezze (Carfully) turn the butterfly plug and once it starts to come out get away from the spill area . Once it all comes out then put the plug back. fill the raitor with water run the car in park then when it reaches normal temp do the steps agian. after the second time it ok to install the new Antifrezze. Now about how to dispose of the old well, go to the center of dispose so they can tell you the right steps to dispose of it
