'Service ride control ' light

Good morning all:
Regarding my '01 Yukon XL. The rear shocks need to be replaced on this vehicle. It is equipped with the Z55 Autoride system and we all know what the Z55 shocks cost.
I want to replace the rear shocks with good quality after market shocks (not Z55 compatible), I do not want to spend $250 or $300 per shock.
My question is this; how can I disable the annoying 'service ride control' light and go on my way with a pair of good quality, heavy duty shocks?
I hope that one of the very knowledgable members of this forum can help me out. Thanks in advance.
