What are you guys using for your ignition power? I didnt opt for the $100 harness. Had one, didnt care for it in my other vehicle. I dont have onstar or bose. Just the simple power, ground, ignition. Its been a while since I have installed a stereo, but do I need to hook up the illumination wire to anything? I cant get my cd player to turn on, so im confused.

You need a wiring diagram for under dash and just match up what you have to what you got.

a little late, but, I put a aftermarket head unit in my 05' silverado, was cake, run up to a electronic store like circut city or best buy, they sell the $20 wire harness that hooks up to your OEM wire harness and then has ~5'' wires connected to another brand wire harness, so In my case I had a Sony head unit, I told the person I needed a 05' Chevy to Sony wire harness. just plug them in. If you need a remote wire you will need to splice the blue one.
