my kid 92 escort automatic will what i think drop to neutral for a couple second every once in a while.It seem to me it may have something to do with the shift control .I took it a shop and they replace a neutral safety switch for another problem and this made the problem go away for about 400 miles.:screwy:

First things first... with the engine warm and running and with the tranny in neutral, check the fluid.
