We have a 2000 Alero and the horn goes off on its own. We have to hit the midde of steering wheel to get it to go off.

It sounds like the horn switch(s) located in the airbag pad assembly is sticking. The switch passes a ground to a slip ring (clock spring) which in turn passes the ground to a spring loaded contact in the multifunction switch assembly. And then the ground goes to one side of the horn relay.

Now the problem seems to be access to switch,we removed horn with has the air bag in it and have no idea how to remove the switch which seems to be located in the middle of air bag.
