I just bought a 1997 Grand Caravan ES with the 3.8L. Last week I noticed a small or weak fluid leak. The fluid was red, so it is either tranny, power steering or trans axle but i don't know which? The leak is front driver's sideabout 9" in from the tire. Does anyone know what the problem is?

To be sure you have to get under it and trace it down. From what you describe it sounds like the transmission is leaking. The leak could be from several points. Could be as simple as the fluid pan seal leaking. Could be the drivers side axle seal or the two coolant lines that connect at the front of the transmission.

Looking down at the engine the tranny sits at the bottom towards the drivers side. The coolant line connections are in plane sight on the front of the tranny. They are smaller in diameter than your little finger and spaced about an inch apart. They lead to the bottom of the radiator.
