97 Regal Fog Lampscaddiali 07-18-2007, 05:22 PM Hi i recently bought a pair of fog lamps online, but am unsure if they require any brackets to put on with them. I bought the car WITHOUT the lamps cause it had been in a small accident before. Does anybody know if they are difficult to install? Any additional hardware required? thanks for all suggestions BNaylor 07-19-2007, 08:11 AM What brand and do you have a link to them? I seriously doubt you will be able to use the stock mounting points so a bracket kit will be required or you will have to improvise. caddiali 07-19-2007, 06:43 PM I purchased the fog lamps from ebay. Store called: Auto Parts Direct to you.com this is from the ad online through ebay: Factory Part #: OE#: 10413243 (right) OE#: 10413244 (left) it says in the ad "Pair Of Foglamp/Foglight Assemblies" for $59.99USD. BNaylor 07-20-2007, 07:32 AM Yeah I've seen those on EBay. See pic below. From what I can see it should have the mounting bracket integral with the fog lamps. The bracket is secured to the bumper reinforcement area by at least two screws/bolts. Best thing to do is remove the plastic splash guard underneath and do a visual inspection. See if the mounting holes are there. PITA the way they are mounted. http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/23000062/Images/2/10358511.jpg STONEBOSS1 07-20-2007, 02:45 PM BNaylor is correct. Those fog lamps should work fine. They should have the brackets on them already. I've never purchased those foglamps, but I can tell you that I've repaired the fogs on my car (condensation problem). They are a PITA. Just below the bumper there are 2 plastic guards where the lights are to be inserted. Remove the guards and you should see 2 bolts protruding downward. Your going to need a 9mm or 10mm extended socket driver to remove and tighten the 4 bolts ( 2 on each side ). Good luck. BTW if I get a chance I will post some pics. BNaylor 07-20-2007, 10:47 PM  Even replacing burnt out lamps is a PITA. A couple of weeks ago I had to replace the driver's side fog lamp on my wife's '99 Regal LS since we use them as driving lamps. The replacement Sylvania lamp would not secure when you turn the housing so I could not get a good seal to keep moisture out. After screwing with it for 10 minutes I had to put the original seal from the OEM GE lamp onto the Sylvania replacement. The replacement seal was too thick. Hopefully for the OP the wiring and electrical connectors are intact and good. I've seen accidents where the wiring harnesses were damaged. caddiali 07-23-2007, 07:47 PM thank you guys for your time and assistance. The fog lamp set finally arrived today...but like you mentioned i still have to check the wiring harness. Hopefully everything is still hooked up all the way to the fog light switch inside the car. For a replacement GM dealer is asking around $18 for the bulb. But do you know the bulb number, because i cant find it in my owners manual!! every bulb listed besides the fog on. BNaylor 07-23-2007, 11:01 PM Thanks for the feedback. AC Delco L893 or Sylvania 893. Aftermarket 893 costs around $8.00 or less. The OEM GE lamps we had lasted about 7 years before one of them burnt out. But I went with the cheaper Sylvania brand. I'll see how long they last. :dunno: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
