Track bar question

I have a stock 2000 gc laredo 4.0 straight 6 that had death wobble from hell. I have checked everything under the jeep, and everything looks good. Tightened down every bolt and nut, nothing loose. I have seen alot of people say that it is the track bar. How do you tell if its the track bar? it has no bushings, just the bolts to the frame. It has this hard rubber like piece going around it, kind of on the passenger side, I dont know what it is, could this be what is wrong with it? It is so weird, take like 3 bumps in the road on the right side, and hit them at about 50mph the jeep feels like a basket ball going across the road, I have to slow decellerate to get it to stop. It bounces all the way up into the steering wheel. Is this my problem, or am in still in left field?

Check the Steering Stablizer first. It looks like a shock mounted on the Drag Link. You might have to remove one end to see if it is working right. JEEP is noted for Death Wooble, the Track bar could be the problem could be more . Ihave a 93 XJ that I had to rebuild the whole front end to get rid of it and I mean Everything.

I believe on the 2000 models had the redesigned trackbars, no ball joint end like the older models which were the main cause of the DW problem. but DW can be caused by many things, tires need balanceds, bad steering stabilizer, bad shocks, bushing in the front end.

I would start by replacing the steering stabilizer (using a Heavy Duty stabilizer should take care of it) - when I had DW in my 94 ZJ, I got rid of it by using an HD Sabilizer, I replaced it with a new one OEM and replaced all the uooer and lower control arm bushings, trackbar, shocks, wheel bearings (b/c of another issue), axleshaft (because of another issue), tie rod and ends, drag links, steering gear (another issue) and still could not get rid of the DW, then I replaced the Steering stabilizer with a HD Stabilizer and never had DW again.

I was more fortunate - on my '94 JGC just had to replace the steering stabilizer and track bar. I might have had the wheels aligned around then, but I know that I had Death Wobble until I replaced the stabilizer & track bar. I haven't had to replace anything else since then.

I keep the steering components lubed each time I change the oil, so that might have kept other parts in good condition.

Found the problem, it was my steering stabilizer shock. I replaced it with a Rancho500, the wobble is gone. The old shock was completely gone. Thanks for all the help, now it time to replace the head gasket, one thing after another with this thing
