Are they the same thing? alfonso2501 07-19-2007, 01:37 AM I use Chevron Techron Concentrate about 3-4 times a year for about 10 years now in 2 different cars. I think it's the best out there. However, I’ve been hearing lots of good things about Seafoam, & might try that some time. J-Ri 08-15-2007, 05:47 PM A lot of Wal Mart products are lower quality than other products, that's not to say all are. Brand name products there are usually lower quality because Wal Mart tells companies how much they will pay for a particular item (with food for sure, heard from an executive at a local cereal factory). If they can cut corners and get the cost down to where they still profit (often cents each), they end up selling a crappy light bulb that burns out after 2 weeks, and another the next week compared to the same brand from an auto parts store that's lasted 1.5 years. (but that's another story) '97ventureowner 08-15-2007, 10:06 PM A lot of Wal Mart products are lower quality than other products, that's not to say all are. While some of that may be true to a point, one must realize that even though some of the products may be "lower quality" than what you'd find in a higher end store, they still must meet federal government guidelines that are in place to ensure safety. A lot of the hype concerning Wal Mart and quality was started by the unions in an attempt to discredit Wal Mart and "bully" them . (Just look at most of the anti-Wal Mart sites out there and you'll discover they are started by the unions.) A good thing has come out of places like Wal Mart, Home Depot, Lowes,Target and other big box retailers telling manufacturers to cut prices and increase productivity. Many new ways of producing products , shipping them, and other way to market them have come about to revolutionize the industry and make it more productive and profitable. What one really needs to worry about today is the stuff you find in the dollar stores as they have a worse track record than what you find at Wal Mart. I make a majority of my purchases at Wal Mart and never have a problem or issue with anything I purchase. many of the same items are found at KMart and Target as well. I completely agree that dollar stores are much worse, I shopped at one once. Once. I know some people who have been happy with Wal Mart (or K Mart and Target as you pointed out) quality. I personally have purchased several products (most automotive) that were broken in the box, missing pieces, broke while using, or lasted only a fraction of the time they should have (two headlight bulbs). Now the only way I would shop there is if there was nothing else open and I absolutely needed the product now. Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
