Hey guys, just bought a pearl white 95' civic dx, dropped, exhaust, body in nice shape for $1500...145,000 miles on it. i love it! but my friend noticed that my brake lights don't light up when i press on the brake. my auxiliry lights work fine, it's just when i brake they don't light up. i checked for missing bulbs, checked the fuse box and everything checked-off fine. so now im stuck wondering what it could be. any ideas what it could be. thanks for the comments guys.

Does the horn work ??

There are 2 fuse boxes in Honda Civics (1 under dash 1 under hood)

yep, horn works fine. checked both fuses, under dash and under hood, both look good.

My next step would be to check the brake switch itself.

The switch is located under drivers side dash near brake pedal arm.
The plunger of the brake switch will be held in when the brake is at its normal resting place and will release the plunger when the brake pedal is pushed.

Check with an Ohm meter (continuity of switch / voltage present) or with a test light ( voltage present )

alright cool thanks for the info. i'll check that out, hopefuly that's the prob. if not i'll probably have to take it to a electrician.
