However, if you can bolt the jm motor to the usm transmission, it stands to reason the reverse should be true.

For the most part the internals are the same (from what I know) except for the s15 6 speed (same bell housing but with thiner gears to make room for the 6th). As far as your question though, NO. The SR bell housing is different from the KA. Why do you ask though?

its not hard to swap bellhousings

you gotta take out all the bolts in the middle of the case halves, where the aluminum parts bolt ot the iron center section, then there are some bolts inside the bellhousing that come off then a snap ring inside that comes off

then u just wiggle that lil SOB bellhousing off..... putting it back together is a lil more difficult because the shifter rails have to be all ligned up.......

still this is a kindergarden type job when it comes to transmissions....
