I am looking at a 86 Jetta Turbo Diesel. the ad states The car runs strong, but has an idle problem ( ok if the glo-plug is pulled out). Any ideas what this might be?Thanks for any help...Jaymm44

You have a glow plug on each cylinder. Which glow plug has to be pulled? If this is necessary, you aren't firing on the one cylinder since removing the plug vents the cylinder. This actually sounds like a timing problem, but it could be that one of the lines from your injector pump to the injector is clogged or dirt has gotten into the check valve mounted on the front of the injection pump.

Hi
something is not right with that.
he must mean to pull the cold start out.
cold start pulled out will advance the timing.
it will run in a advanced condition.
meaning it will need belt timing checked or replacement.
hope this helps a little .
