Anyone replaced a 96 transmission before

I have a 96 blazer with 202000 miles. I have already had the sungear replaced at 180000 miles. Now the transmission feels really loose. takeoffs in both forward and reverse take a long time. I also cant use overdrive under about 70mph. It just slips back into 3rd gear. I have a transmission with only 40,000 miles on it that I can put in it. If anyone has any suggestions on what is wrong or tips on putting the new transmission in I would love to hear. Thanks

If you have a problem that involves forward and reverse. Theres a possibilty that theres a problem that is common denominator to both. Theses being, low fluid pressure from transmission(pressure check could verify) or some power loss from engine. When you say "takeoffs in both forward and reverse take a long time". Does this mean you cannot feel a bump into gear when you put in drive or reverse? Or, bumps into gear but is sluggish when accelerating?

I just swapped the tranny on my 96 4x4 last month. Wasn't horrible. I found this VERY helpful

The link previously posted above was helpful too.

Can't help you on the diagnostics, sorry.
