Horrible Noise While Drivingaustin4913 07-13-2007, 02:07 PM I have a 2002 Taurus 3.0 OHV with 95,000 miles. Several months ago I started noticing a noice from the right front wheel that got worse with increased speed. I put the car in neutral at 70 mph and the noise remained. I read several posts on this site and felt pretty comforatable it was the wheel bearing because the noise intensified when I turned the wheel to the left thus forcing the right side to take all the weight. I went to autozone and bought a new wheel hub assembly and changed it. The noise is still there leaving me out of ideas. The only other thing I can think of is the cv joint but I would think it would make noise regardless of which way I turn. Any ideas?? GPFred 07-17-2007, 02:23 PM I would have the CV joint checked then. You can look yourself to see if there is a tiny break in the boot that would have resulted in the loss of the grease causing the break down in the joint. A half shaft shouldn't cost more than $125 from a parts store. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
