My parents bought a car for me about three years ago, from a man that lived down the street from us. He brought us the title but he signed it in the wrong palce so he had to take it back and go get a new one. He put it off and put it off and then he moved. We have no idea where he move to and we don't have the money to get a lawyer to sue. I was wondering if there was anything else that could be done. The car has been sitting in our garage this whole time.
Could someone please help?

Off the record, you know what his signature looks like.....sign it again in the right place......

On the record technically posession is 9/10 of the law and if you hold the title and you have the car, it's yours.

You can usually call the tax collector's office or DMV in your state to ask how to resolve this issue. They are usually very helpful and know ways around corners to get things done.

If you really want to find him, I suggest going to YellowPages.com and searching. If he doesn't come up, use US search.

Hope it helps - Molly (Fort Myers, FL)
