I have a 1999 sunfire. Going to order a stainless muffler. Does it matter what size inlet I buy? Do they have to match in order to fit my car?
Thanks

yes, the inlet matters so it fits your old piping. but the outlet doesnt really matter at all.

If you just gonna buy mufflers, then i would recommend Magnaflow mufflers... I have dual exhaust and i bought two Magnaflow mufflers and they sound AWESOME... Im going to replace my entire exhaust to 2.5 inch tho... well i have to because im going to turbo my car...

thats what it is on my z, so i got the 2.25" ID muffler and an adapter to go from 1 7/8" to 2.25" cuz i have not got the money to replace the whole thing yet. i mean its only a 4 cylinder so 1 7/8" is a good size, especialy compaired to other 4 cylinder cars like hondas, so im not in any big hurry to get new piping, but it would be nice eventualy since i have the header and muffler, i just need the pipe to go between them, lol

Yeah im gonna replace the entire exhaust pipings too, im going to buy a magnaflow hi-flow cat and a 28" glasspack and have my shop complete the exhaust job, i wanna do 2.5", and i have to replace the exhaust if i get the turbo setup...
