I see I can order a class II Bolt on Trailer hitch for my Park Ave Ultra that is rated at 3500 pounds towing.
Here is link
http://www.etrailer.com/hitch-1998_Buick_Park+Ave..htm

But I dont think the manufacture recomends over 1500? Not sure..
The car seems like it has enough power my concern would be the tranny. Anyone do any towing with there park ave, Would love to buy a 18 ft skiboat but it weighs in at 2500 pounds

It's suggested 1000 lb towing capasity for Park Avenue, but don't forget that it's a regular car, not a tow rig. Yes it does have power but this power is for acceleration - not towing. IMHO you could burn your tranny easy.:nono:

My ULTRA book indicates towing is NOT an option since it is a supercharged higher performance engine. Hitch manufactures will make hitches for cars that aren't suppose to tow.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input, I Dont think I will try it. Its a shame now a days you have to buy a suv or pick up to do any towing. :banghead:

I say tow it. I tow a 20 foot boat at 1900 pounds. No problems. Upgrade the brakes, change the trans fluid/ filter on a regular basis, if towing in hills get a trans cooler, when towing take it out of over drive. I got 220,000 out of the last buick I had and I towed on a regular basis, and did not have any trans problems. Now my towing was not 500 miles each weekend but locally and about 4 1000 miles trips each year. Hope this helps...It works for me.
