easy access in the trunk, fold back trunk mat and you will see top of fuel pump. Disconnect the fuel lines, (will get a little gas on you), and the electric plug. Now comes the hard part. This car is a real problem to remove the retaining ring on the pump. You can do it with screw driver and really big hammer, however you will destroy the retaining ring in the process. Beg borrow or seal special tool #J39765 from Kent more, you will need it to reinstall the new retaining ring A43 TR7, and seal A43-g13. Must replace the seal or you will leak for sure. You can replace the pump inside the plastic sender with rebuilt pump from Advance Auto parts ($65.00) rebuilt by python Inj.Inc. or you can buy new pump and filters from efuelpumps.com (e8785-899KME) for $107.83 including freight. If you are lazy you can purchase a complete sender for $225 plus anywhere.

DANGER!!!!!! :nono: Never use a screwdriver and a hammer on a fuel pump, specially if you have some gas around you. One spark and you're puff gone. Is better to use the wrench J-39765, and brass tools. And of course a well ventilated area. BE CAREFUL MY FRIEND......:nono:

Spanner wrench J-39765 will cost about 200.00 or more ...

Easy solution go to Home Depot ( plumber's aisle ) and you will see all the adjustable spanner wrenches for about 15.00 to 25.00 dls...

hope this helps..
