Hi All -
I took my truck in to have it detailed - primarily for the exterior - it's amazing how much better our trucks can look after a good buff out! It really looks nice/new (2001 with 130k)

Unfortunately they butchered my interior.... I had a *very* small area on the dash bezel, right above the radio, where the paint was wearing thin. It looked like small specks of black were showing through. Appearantly the guy cleaning the car thought it was dirt and scrubbed the crud out of it. I now have a 3" black streak showing through. It looks terrible. I called the dealer and they do not make an interior touch up. They sell spray cans of dash paint at the local auto parts store, but they are not the correct color. If I spray the whole think a contrasting color, I cant imagine I will be able to mask all of the black areas well enough that it is not noticeable. I feel kinda stuck - other than buying a whole new bezel.

Have any of you used any of the plastic overlay products out there (wood grain, carbon fiber, aluminum, etc)? Any other ideas on fixing this?

Thanks!!

Take it back to the place where you had it detailed and make them pay to replace the bezel.

Funny you mention that, I just finishing polishing out my 2001 (64K miles). I do know the feeling :)

I Seem to remember a guy selling t he dash trims, caps (factory OEM) on Ebay. There are grey and tans ones I think. They fit many years of that truck as well as the GMC, Yukon, Suburban, etc.

Maybe you can find a good used, or new one.
